Frequently asked questions
General
No, you don't need a referral.
As a private billing clinic, you can contact us and book an initial consultation for your child directly.
If your child has complex needs or has had any medical investigations, we do welcome any existing medical reports, letters from paediatricians, or notes from early childhood educators, but these aren't required to get started.
Yes. Paediatric physiotherapy is generally covered under the "Extras" or "Allied Health" section of most private health funds.
We provide receipts with all the necessary provider and AHPRA registration details so you can claim directly through your health fund app.
Because every insurance policy is different, we recommend quoting the item codes 500 (Initial Assessment) and 505 (Subsequent Consultation) to your provider before your first visit to confirm your exact rebate amount.
Yes. If your child has chronic or complex needs, they may be eligible for a Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly known as an Enhanced Primary Care or EPC plan), which must be formally arranged by your GP.
This plan provides a Medicare rebate for up to 5 allied health sessions per calendar year. Please note that Kids Kinetics is a private clinic, so there will be a gap fee between our session rate and the Medicare rebate amount. Sessions are paid in full on the day and you will be provided with a receipt to claim through Medicare.
Please bring a copy of your GP management plan to your initial session.
Please dress your child in comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows them to move freely (such as leggings, shorts, t-shirts, or tracksuits).
Depending on what we are working on, we may ask your child to take their shoes and socks off to look at their foot alignment, balance, or gait. If your child uses specific orthotics, splints or shoes, please bring those along too!
We completely understand, visiting a clinical space can feel intimidating for little ones! Our first priority is making your child feel safe, comfortable, and happy.
An initial session involves a mix of play-based physical assessment, chatting with you about your main concerns, and observing how your child naturally moves, sits, balances, and plays. We tailor our approach entirely to your child’s energy levels and comfort, turning the "assessment" into a series of fun, engaging games.
Our clinic is located in North Ryde.
There is convenient parking available in the council carpark at the end of Newbigin Cl, with an undercover walkway from the carpark to the clinic so you can transition your child into the clinic safely and stress-free.
We're located on the upper level of The Village - the level you enter on from the carpark, or upstairs if you parked out the front.
We understand that life with little ones can be unpredictable and children wake up sick unexpectedly. If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please give us at least 24 hours' notice.
Our appointment times are dedicated exclusively to your child, so late cancellations or missed sessions mean other families on our waiting list miss out on care, and our therapists lose valuable clinical time.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a cancellation fee.
We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us support all of our clinic families.
The easiest way to get started is by clicking any of the "Enquire Now" buttons across our website. This will take you to our secure online enquiry form (powered by our practice management system, Splose).
Once you submit your details and tell us a little bit about your child, our team will review the information and reach out to you to discuss the next steps and book an appointment.
You can also give us a call and we can book in an appointment for you on the spot - if we don't answer we're likely in a session with another kiddo. Leave us a voicemail and we'll call you back as soon as we can!
